Epson 7400 Lens Configuration

This guide is intended to provide guidance on configuring the Epson 7400's image sizing and position to accommodate different screen sizes and image aspect ratios. 

 

Configure Screen Image

  1. Select desired input (HDMI, DVI-D, etc…)
  2. Select Zoom on the remote
  3. Adjust zoom (+ / -) until image is about right
  4. Select Lens Shift on the remote
  5. Adjust image positioning until all sides of the image are within the screen boundaries
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the desired image is achieved

Note: If not possible to get image perfectly within screen boundaries, the Blanking option can be used to trim sides to reduce the image to within screen boundaries.

 

Blanking Overflow Image

  1. Select Menu on the remote
  2. Navigate to Signal and select Ok
  3. Navigate to Blanking and select Ok
  4. Navigate to Top and adjust amount of blanking needed to fit image within screen boundaries
    1. Note: If image is already within boundaries on Top, you can leave value at 0
  5. Repeat step 4 for options Bottom, Left, and Right

 

Saving Lens Configuration

  1. If Memory option is available on remote:
    1. Select Memory on the remote
  2. If Memory option is NOT available on remote:
    1. Select Menu on the remote
    2. Navigate to Settings and select Ok
    3. Navigate to Memory and select Ok
  3. Navigate to Lens Position and select Ok
  4. Navigate to Save Memory and select Ok
  5. Navigate to available memory position and select Ok
    1. Note: Memory slot icon will change from black to blue once settings have been saved

 

Naming Saved Position

  1. If Memory option is available on remote:
    1. Select Memory on the remote
  2. If Memory option is NOT available on remote:
    1. Select Menu on the remote
    2. Navigate to Settings and select Ok
    3. Navigate to Memory and select Ok
  3. Navigate to Lens Position and select Ok
  4. Navigate to Rename Memory and select Ok
  5. Navigate to the memory slot of the setting you wish to rename and select Ok
    1. Note: Memory slots with an existing name will have a blue icon. If a slot has a black icon, it does NOT mean there are no settings saved there, just that there is no name assigned yet.
    2. Note: It is suggested to name the memory settings either the same as the input name, or a way to easily remember which input a setting is configured for
      1. Ex: “HDMI” for the HDMI input, or “Computer” for the E6 input
    3. Use the directional keys to enter a name with the on-screen keyboard
    4. Select Finish when you are done entering the name

 

Loading Saved Position

  1. Select your desired input
  2. If Memory option is available on remote:
    1. Select Memory on the remote
  3. If Memory option is NOT available on remote:
    1. Select Menu on the remote
    2. Navigate to Settings and select Ok
    3. Navigate to Memory and select Ok
  4. Navigate to Lens Position and select Ok
  5. Navigate to Load Memory and select Ok
  6. Navigate to the lens settings for your desired input and select Ok
